Subtopic B farewell

Above photo- Believe it or not, but I went looking for pictures of Oklahoma postcards and that came up as one of them.....

We see first off a man standing beside the car, tinkering with something (looks like the light). Directly behind him and across the car is a shed with a wheel laying against it, it looks dusty, everything has that faint grey dusty look (Perhaps that is due to the general coloration of photography at the time). The car seems to be full, but not overly so, just full enough to suggest he has given up trying but not given up hope (in essence he hope to someday comeback, or perhaps to send his children back). He is dressed in a rougher fashion which makes it evident that he in no major league businessman and that he is, like so many other Americans at the time, down on his luck.

Wishing you a clear, clean and caring summer harvest in that pan of a state-
Good bye forever Oklahoma, you can keep your eastern banks-

  1. Directions ask you to find post card similar to those on the directions, though. So while this may be a post card, the directions indicated a more specific style that would have yielded different results.
